Phytosanitary requirements

Countries with specific quarantine requirements demand that suppliers apply particular mitigation (phytosanitary) procedures to prevent the entry of unwanted pests and diseases.

Major quarantine markets for South African produce – such as the USA, Mexico, Israel, Iran and Japan – issue their own phytosanitary protocols and procedures that have to be followed to gain access to these countries.

ABSi publishes the latest phytosanitary requirements to assist suppliers to register and export produce to these markets. The ABSi Phytosanitary Requirements cover all requirements and procedures applicable to each of these countries.
