ABSi information
AgriBusiness Systems international (ABSi) is an independent services company established in the South African fresh produce industry, with partners around the world. The main ABSi stakeholders are:
- The South African fresh fruit industries, by way of their various industry organisations, such as the DFPT, SATI and CGA;
- Exporters, through the FPEF;
- Organisations involved in the importing, distribution and sale of fresh produce;
- Multinationals in the agrochemical trade; and
- The South African Government.
ABSi aims to enable quick and accurate communication on food safety and due diligence matters between local and international role players in the food industry through a secure web-based system. To achieve this aim, ABSi offers a range of services to participants in the produce supply chain.
ABSi is managed by industry specialists on matters relating to good agricultural and ethical production practices, agrochemical use and data exchange. Additionally, the ABSi Associates offer consultation and training on topics supporting the ABSi services.
